The "Pitchers" women's slow pitch team, in cooperation with Triple Crown
Sports and Rocky Mountain USSSA, announce the return of the 4th of July Mountain Magic adult slow pitch softball tournament in Steamboat Springs,
Colorado! For more information, please visit www.triplecrownsports.com
So that's the official release above. Now a more personal take. Steamboat is good for softball and when Patty approached me with this a month or so ago
it was a no brainer to me. Add the beauty of Steamboat, a holiday weekend, the know how of Patty and her TCS team and USSSA's advertising power and
umpires and we have a winner.
We got the logistics figured out, now you guys have to go fill the event. She has a hard cap of 65 teams so that they can keep the event entirely in
Steamboat. It's first come first served and you're not in till you're paid. You can get full details, at least the ones we've figured out so
far here

All divisions are sanctioned so you'll get points
Men's Upper is for CC teams and any other teams that want to swing their own bats. I think she has upper set up for 3 HR's and dependent on what we
get for entries it will probably be power bracketed. Think 'open' for this division.
Men's Lower will be wood bat and open to anybody who wants to swing wood bats for the weekend.
Two divisions of Women's- the usual upper and lower and they may be combined
Open division for Mixed and they're setting up the fences at 200 feet. Guys will hit the 16" Chicago Big Ball and Ladies will hit the 12"
Men's Ball.
No conflict for the weekend as always.
We've eliminated the Loveland July 4 NIT but we'll be offering something down here that weekend for teams that prefer to stay closer to home. I
don't know if we'll be replacing the NIT yet or if that is going to prove a one year deal and in our past.
I also have to sit down with Smoke about the Spider. Leaving these tournaments back to back may hurt both and that certainly isn't our goal. In the past
Spider fell the following weekend and I'd like to push it back to July 16-18 if he can do that.
More to follow as we set the schedule for 2010 in the coming month
